Close follow-up is crucial following treatment either after surgery or chemotherapy and radiation.
Post-treatment surveillance
National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend surveillance:
- Patients are usually followed with high resolution anoscopy (HRA) and inguinal lymph node exam every 3-4 months for the first 2 years from completion of CMT
- After 2 years, patients are followed every 6 months with high resolution anoscopy (HRA) and inguinal lymph node exam every 6 months for an additional 3 years from completion of CMT
- After this, patient may opt for yearly follow up
- Imaging is usually per oncology team recommendations
