Cristina Brickman is received her M.D. from Columbia University and completed a residency in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in Infectious Diseases (ID) and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During her fellowship training she encountered the complications of HPV infection in people living with HIV and became interested in HPV-associated malignancies and their prevention in at-risk populations.

In addition, Cristina is the Associate Clinic Director for the Anal Neoplasia Clinic, Research and Education Center and the local site principal investigator for the Anal Cancer/HSIL Outcomes Research (ANCHOR) study. She is a member of the International Anal Neoplasia Society through which she co-directs the IANS Standard HRA online course and works to expand HRA access to providers across the world.

In addition to her work in anal cancer prevention, Cristina is a consultant for the inpatient ID service and has an active interest in promoting physician well-being. She is the well-being faculty champion for the UCSF ID Division, co-chairs the ID fellowship Well-Being Committee, and is a member of the UCSF Council for Advancing Faculty Experience.
